“Kitten on a Pillow” was the first cat figurine Boyd Art Glass ever made. It was produced in limited runs of 46 colors beginning in 1978. The kitten pictured was made on December 20, 1978. It was from one of the first runs in the color “royalty” – first color in which it was made. Purchased from a former Boyd glassworker, this kitten is unusual in that the mold was slightly underfilled – they were still trying to figure out how much glass they needed to make this new figurine correctly!
