Mosser #235 Mini Cat On Basket (Covered Salt) – Color List

Mosser’s Mini Cat on Basket  (aka “Kitten on a Nest” or “Mini Kitten on a Basket”), Mosser mould #235, is a small covered salt, measuring 2.75” wide x 2.5” high.   This piece was produced in a striking range of colors, both solids and slags. Most solid colors were also produced in a satin finish and a few were iridized. This piece was first made in cobalt in 1994 and is still being produced and sold by Mosser Glass.

The colors below have all been verified against Mosser catalogs and Mosser’s own notes, except where noted. Some names may be redundant – it was not unheard of for Mosser to use multiple names for the same color.

The Mosser mark (an underlined capital “M”) can be found on the inside of the lower “basket” half. The mark was later updated to Mosser’s current letter “M” inside the outline of the state of Ohio. This occurred sometime after the year 2000, exact date pending verification.
