Some of the links to 3rd party sites from GlassKitties.com are “affiliate links.” This means that I have a partnership agreement with these sites (currently Amazon and eBay) and receive a small commission if you click through on the link and purchase or place a winning bid on an auction while you’re there.
FAQ
Does buying through an affiliate link cost me more?
Do they take money away from the seller?
No! They have no effect upon the price you pay and do not decrease the seller’s profits. Affiliate revenue is taken out of the fees the selling platform normally collects for each sale.
Why do you have affiliate links?
The affiliate links help cover the cost of runing this site. I don’t use free hosting platforms. I self-host on a hosting account that I pay for annually, along with software subscriptions and domain registration. The affiliate revenue helps pick up the tab while I provide a free service for my visitors.
I bet you make a fortune!
Hah – I wish!
Both Amazon and eBay keep most of their fees for themselves. Spoilsports!
You’d make more money if you didn’t tell people about the links.
Maybe, but that’s kinda sketch, isn’t it?
